Geoff Greenlaw | 06 November 2003 | Froze to death in chiller |
Avril Lucich | 02 August 2004 | Drowned in bathtub |
February 2003: Physiotherapist Dominic Thompson arrives on the Street to catch up with sister, nurse Toni Thompson and meet his baby nephew, Harry.
March 2003: Dom gets a job at the hospital, befriends doctor/pub owner Geoff Greenlaw and almost embarks on an affair with Geoff's 16-year-old sister Delphi Greenlaw.
April 2003: Dom befriends Chris Warner's dying mother, Lady Margot Warner, and is accused of being a gold-digger. She leaves him a sizable bequest in her will and reveals Dominic is her husband's illegitimate son.
May 2003: Toni and Dom's mother, Ngaire Thompson, arrives in Ferndale and urges her son to claim money from Chris' portion of the estate.
July 2003: Dom becomes engaged to heiress Emily Bredican.
August 2003: Dom intervenes when a patient attacks Chris, receiving a heavy blow to the head. A grateful Chris asks him to change his surname to Warner. Ngaire tells her son he wasn't fathered by Sir Bruce at all.
September 2003: Dom and Emily wed. Delphi discovers the bride had her own ulterior motive for marrying - if she didn't, she'd lose an inheritance. Emily tells Ngaire the truth, who uses it against her, and locks Delphi up to prevent her informing Dom. Dom soon learns he's trapped in a loveless marriage.
October 2003: An increasingly unhinged Dom starts drugging and mentally abusing his wife to make her look mentally ill, hoping to gain control of her fortune. Emily's doctor, Geoff, is suspicious. He also calls immigration on Delphi's new boyfriend, chef Samuel Whittaker, forcing him to leave the country.
November 2003: Geoff is whacked over the head and dragged into the The Dog's Day Inn chiller, where he is discovered frozen to death. Injured in a car accident, Dom is rushed into surgery. Chris and Toni realise he's lied about his blood type and it is impossible for him to be Chris' half-brother. Chris strips Dom of his inheritance.
December 2003: Dom manipulates Natasha Heremaia into accusing Chris of sexual molestation. Dom also breaks up his foe's relationship with Donna Heka by telling her Chris had been unfaithful. Just as Dom and Delphi prepare to leave for Australia, Marshall Heywood discovers a clue to Geoff's murder, a distinctive footprint in the ice on the floor of the chiller that matches Dom's shoe. When Delphi accuses him of killing her brother, Dom attacks Delphi and flees the country.
June 2004: Dominic returns in Episode 3000, as head of the hospital's new plastics unit.
August 2004: Dom confesses murdering Geoff Greenlaw to his blackmailing PA Avril Lucich, before drowning her in the bathtub, and dumping her body in a lake. He then slowly persuades Delphi he had nothing to do with her brother's murder and frames Dr. Victor Kahu for the crime. When Victor is convicted, Dom embarks on an affair with Delphi.
September 2004: Avril's twin sister Bernadette Lucich arrives, intent on finding out what happened to her sister. She convinces Delphi something is not right and the youngster leaves town.
October 2004: Realising teenager Scarlett Valentine has taken his briefcase (full of incriminating documents regarding the plastics unit and high-risk patients), Dom follows her home and pushes her down the stairs. Dom frames Bernadette for credit card fraud but she escapes the police and traps him in his house. She tortures Dom, until he breaks free and almost kills her, but the cops arrives and arrest her.
November 2003: Dom is arrested after stealing Chris' identity and money. Toni discovers her brother catatonic and is forced to commit him to a mental health unit. Chris thinks Dom is faking and the newly reunited couple split. Avril's body is recovered from the lake, and Chris informs Dom of the discovery, who later escapes the mental health unit. Using Toni and Harry to lure Chris to a remote cabin, he strings Chris from the rafters and douses the place in petrol. Fortunately Chris is pulled to safety as the building explodes and Dom stumbles out in flames, confessing to murder before dying from his injuries.

June 2007: Joey Henderson arrives back in New Zealand from Port Moresby and starts work as a nurse in Shortland Street's ED department. He soon finds himself on a date with 19-year-old receptionist Claire Solomon but realised she was only using him to make Kieran Mitchell jealous.
July 2007: Shockwaves ripple through Shortland Street hospital when Claire's naked body is found dumped in a skip and wrapped in plastic. She had been strangled - and the killer had practised suturing a wound on her forehead.
August 2007: After a naughty tryst with Mark Weston in The IV Bar, nurse Meg Harris is found strangled, intubated and dumped in the skip behind the IV - the killer had performed intubation on her body. New detective Lara Wade is assigned to the case following Meg's murder. It is the grisly death of lesbian bar-owner Jay Copeland, who was found strangled and dumped in bushes close to the hospital, that confirm their worst fears - there is a serial killer on the prowl. This time the killer had practised a needle thoracotomy (used in treatment of tension pneumothorax) upon her. Meanwhile, Joey moves into El Rancho with Kieran.
September 2007: Nurse Beth Wilson attacks Joey when he sneaks up behind her in the hospital carpark. He later apologises for scaring her. The killing spree continues when Beth is abducted from her home and found dead a week later. The killer had tried to perform an appendicectomy on her body.

December 2007: Learning nurse Tania Jeffries has been seeing Dr. Kip Denton while seemingly stringing Joey along. Joey is finally revealed as the Ferndale Strangler as he pulls IV tubing from his pocket and sneaks up behind the unsuspecting nurse.
January 2008: Joey fails in his repeated attempts to kill Tania. He later sets his sights on nurse Shanti Kumari after learning she was in a relationship with nurse James Scott while betrothed to Dinesh Jivani, but to his increasing frustation he fails to kill her thanks to a phone call from boyfriend Scotty. But he isn't finished with Shanti yet.
February 2008: A Day in the Life of Joey Henderson finally reveals his twisted lair - a storage unit where pencil sketches of his victims line the walls and a surgical table, complete with surgical instruments, fills the remaining space. After recording an entry on his video diary on why he intends to kill Shanti, he sets out to find his unsuspecting victim. However, Scotty unwittingly saves her life again, and Joey is forced to back down. Enraged, Joey follows a drunk woman who broke away from her friends and attacks her, but she fights back and Joey is forced to abandon his attack. He is later forced to treat the woman when she comes into ED, but to his relief she doesn't recognise him as her attacker.
March 2008: Realising police are closing in on him, Joey abducts nurse Alice Piper and ties her up in his storage unit, where she pleads with him not to hurt her. He performs an appendicectomy to remove her appendix. After the successful operation, he releases one of her hands for her to use the bedpan. She takes the opportunity to throw her urine in his face, then stabs him in the femoral atery with a pair of scissors. She escapes from the storage unit, and a chase ensues throughout the storage facility. Kieran and Craig Valentine arrive, and Alice is found by Craig who runs off to confront Joey who escaped. After a struggle with Kieran on the roof of the storage facility, and being cornered by police, Joey commits suicide by jumping to his death.
