StoryMash is an online social networking site of fiction readers and writers. It combines aspects of round-robin stories and Choose-Your-Own-Adventure-style tales. StoryMash is a form of collaborative fiction in which many authors contribute to a story, each writing a chapter at a time. It is a collaborative system of user-generated content that pays all authors over 50% of all revenue made by the content they publish. The result is a continually growing work of hypertext fiction.

StoryMash hosts periodic free writing contests. So far they have had three writing contests, each of which awarded a total of over $500. The awards are $300 for first place, $150 for second place, and $60 for third place.
