Like "Ruff Ryders' Anthem", "Get At Me Dog", and "How's It Goin' Down", Stop Being Greedy was one of the singles of DMX's debut album. This is also one of the songs on It's Dark and Hell Is Hot where it features DMX using dog barks. The song is highlighted to feature two sides of DMX; the smooth voice represents no trouble while the angry voice represents hostility and trouble. Lyrics are focused on violence and stress which represents DMX's anger to people who are greedy and not wanting to help the one who needs it.
