Stonewall F.C. is currently Britain's highest ranking gay football team who are on the verge of going semi-professional.
The team has steadily risen through the league and in the season 2001-2002 the first team won the West Middlesex County League Senior Division. They did it in convincing fashion, losing only 2 games all season. This was their second championship in a row after winning the Islington Midweek League the year before. In 2002-2003 season the 1st team were promoted to the Premier Division in the West Middlesex County League. The 1st team finished the season in 6th place - un-defeated in their last 9 games of the season. They also got to the final of the league cup. One more promotion would have seen them compete on the Combined Counties Football league.
