Stone Gods are a band formed by ex-members of defunct UK hard rock band The Darkness. The University of East Anglia's Student's union had hosted the band at The Waterfront, Norwich on January 30, 2008 with support from the Scottish band Serpico. This date was the last on their tour and was a total sellout with around 500 people turning up and supporting them.[1]. They supported Thunder at The University of East Anglia on November 29, 2007. The band are also playing support on five dates of Thin Lizzy's current tour.[2] A short UK tour is currently underway[3][4][5] The band's first release is a limited edition EP titled Burn the Witch which was released on February 25, 2008.[6] According to the official Stone Gods website, the EP sold out within one day. It also reached number 2 in the Radio 1 Rock charts. Their debut album, titled 'Silver Spoons & Broken Bones'[7], is expected to be released on July 7th, with the first single 'Knight Of The Living Dead' being released on June 23rd.[8] On 25th May the band released 3 songs exclusively on iTunes. These songs, which will be on the album are 'Knight Of The Living Dead', 'Making it Hard' and 'Defend Or Die'. On 27th May the bands website officially announced that the main support for their tour will be Big Linda. On the 9th June, the band's website officially stated their drummer, Ed Graham, would not be able to take part in their UK tour due to an 'emergency health issue'. 'We very much regret to announce that due to an emergency health issue of our drummer Ed Graham we will have to postpone the shows in Liverpool (June 10th), Cardiff (June 11th) & Bristol (June 12th)'.
