Stomy Bugsy (real name Gilles Duarte) (born 21st of May 1972 in Paris) is a French rapper from Sarcelles, a Paris suburb. His parents come from Cape Verde. He is one of the founders of "Ministere AMER", along with Passi. However in 1996 Stomy Bugsy decided to launch his own solo career. It could be argued that he pioneered the first instance of gangster rap with a French sound. He continued with the west coast gangster rapper sound for some considerable time however in March 2003 he released "4ème round" and it showed Stomy’s new maturity since his earlier days with Ministere AMER. Stomy has also been doing acting here and there since 1997.
