[edit] About Stomio

The former name of Stomio was Tsagezi or Tsayezi (Greek: Τσάγεζι). It's geographical spot combines the beauty of the mountain with the incomparable one of the sea. The dense vegetation of Mount Ossa (Kissavos) reaches the beaches of the Aegean Sea and the Pineios River (Thessaly) Delta. The ancient city Eurymenae (Erymnae) was in the Stomio area. A Byzantine period Greek Orthodox monastery (the Komnenian Monastery of Virgin Mary's Assumption & Saint Demetrius (Monastery of Komnenion) by Byzantine emperor Alexios I Komnenos) is located near Stomio.
