Stinsford

Stinsford is a village in south west Dorset, England, one mile east of Dorchester. The village has a population of 346 (2001), 13.5% of dwellings are second homes.
The village churchyard contains the grave of Poet Laureate Cecil Day Lewis, as well as the burial place of the heart of Thomas Hardy, the novelist and poet, alongside the grave of his first wife Emma Lavinia Gifford who died in 1912.

The village is also famous for its local six a side team which has consistently finished well in the upper tiers of the Dorset six a side leagues over the last decade. The team is famous for its luminous orange kit and also for providing key players who have moved on to play for teams such as Yeovil. [1]
