Stikeman Elliott LLP is a full service Canadian corporate law firm. It is known as one of the "seven sisters", which consists of the seven top tier firms in Toronto. The firm has approximately 450 lawyers over eight offices located in Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, Calgary, Vancouver, New York City, London (UK), and Sydney. It was founded in 1952 by H. Heward Stikeman and Fraser Elliott.
Stikeman Elliott is recognized nationally and internationally for the sophistication of its business law practice. Chambers Global has honoured the firm as Canadian Law Firm of the Year for 2006 and identifies it as one of Canada's two top-tier Corporate/M&A practices. Thomson Financial ranks it first with respect to value of announced Canadian M&A transactions while Mergerstat Review ranks it first among Canadian firms in both number and volume of Canada-U.S. cross-border M&A transactions.
