Hey! This is my third talk page archive, covering all messages written to me between 4/25/06 and 6/7/06. Please do me a favor and write to me on my actual talk page.

[edit] Just improving my interaction level with the community in case it comes up on an RFA

Hi! ++Lar: t/c 04:22, 26 April 2006 (UTC)

(in response to "Do I know you?", refactored back here, as it says on the header of my talk page I prefer to keep conversations together)

You recently wrote on my talk page, making a (seemingly sarcastic) reference to an vote I made opposing Ezau's Rfa. I'm a little curious as to why that happened. Jared W!!! | Write to me, why don't you? 11:01, 26 April 2006 (UTC)
No, you don't know me. As to why I wrote you... short answer: read your signature! What does it say? Longer answer: Did you notice I wasn't the only person to mysteriously write you out of the blue? ++Lar: t/c 11:10, 26 April 2006 (UTC)

(in response to "Sorry about that...", refactored back here, as it says on the header of my talk page I prefer to keep conversations together. Second try to keep this threaded. I watch talk pages and WILL see replies)

Yeah, sorry I "snapped" about your message on my talk page. I kind of misinterpreted it. (And actually, someone else randomly wrote to me too...) Jared W!!! | Write to me, why don't you? 11:12, 26 April 2006 (UTC)
It is no problem at all. As you surmised, I WAS trying to make a few points though. The points being
  1. I think your reason for opposing Ezau is ill considered.
  2. I think putting "write to me please" begging in your signature is ill considered as well.
  3. I think the two of them together really clash, and I'm not the only person that feels that way.
I don't know Ezau from Adam, so it's not like I'm sticking up for him because of prior history, but I think he's getting a raw deal for no good reason at all. I DO plan to allow an RfA on myself soon enough and I'm going to be terrifically disappointed if people use my balance of talk vs non talk, article vs wikipedia etc as a reason to oppose. I would ask you to reconsider your vote, and your statement, which has influenced others. ++Lar: t/c 11:22, 26 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Threading

If there's any way we could keep this conversation in one place or the other it would be great. I've refactored it off my page twice and you keep replying there despite my request to keep it together. So how about if we keep it all on my page and none here? Would that be better for you? Once we come to rest on one place or the other I'll reply to the substance of your messages, whereever they are. ++Lar: t/c 19:03, 26 April 2006 (UTC)

This template is a little hard to see. You may want to fix the background of this template. Nice job just the same. Mr. Turcotte 01:38, 29 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Just dying laughing here

I just caught this: "Support Very ready to be an administrator, "on top of things" on Wikipedia, but not enough community interaction. (Just joking on that last one, Lar.)" and about busted a gut. Thanks for your support and thanks especially for making me snicker! ++Lar: t/c 23:18, 1 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Birthday Committee

Thank you for your offer. I would love to lead the Birthday Committee till September 10th. Mr. Turcotte 20:38, 2 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] May the Force be with you.

Dear Steveo2/Archive 3,

Thanks for voting on my RFA! I appreciate your faith in me, and was overwhelmed by the positive response to my RFA; for it shows that at least I'm doing something right. :) I've started working to improve myself already, and I hope that next time, things run better, and maybe, just maybe, one day we can bask on the shores of Admintopia together. Thanks and cheers, _-M o P-_ 21:52, 3 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Welcome to Esperanza!

Welcome, Steveo2, to Esperanza, the Wikipedia member association! As you might know, all the Esperanzians share one important goal: the success of this encyclopedia. Within that, we then attempt to strengthen the community bonds, and be the "approachable" side of the project. All of our ideals are held in the Charter, the governing document of the association.

Now that you are a member you should read the guide to what to do now or you may be interested in some of our programs. A quite important program is the StressUnit, which seeks to support editors who have encountered any stress from their Wikipedia events, and are seeking to leave the project. So far, Esperanza can be credited with the support and retention of several users. We will send you newsletters to keep you up to date. Also, we have a calendar of special events, member birthdays, and other holidays that you can add to and follow.

In addition to these projects, several more missions of Esperanza are in development, and are currently being created at Esperanza/Possibles.

I encourage you to take an active voice in the running of Esperanza. We have a small government system, headed by our Administrator general, Celestianpower, and guided by the Advisory Committee comprised of JoanneB, FireFox and Titoxd. The next set of elections will be in April, we will keep you updated about the results. Because you are a new member, you are not able to vote in these elections, but you will be more than welcome to take part in the elections in June.

If you have any other questions, concerns, comments, or general ideas, Esperanzian or otherwise, know that you can always contact Celestianpower by email or talk page or the Esperanza talk page. Alternatively, you could communicate with fellow users via our IRC channel, #wikipedia-esperanza (which is also good for a fun chat or two :). If you're new to IRC, you may find help at an IRC Tutorial. I thank you for joining Esperanza, and look forward to working with you in making Wikipedia a better place to work!

[edit] Charlie Murphy's True Hollywood Stories: Rick James

Hi Steve. You voted for this article to be deleted, but the nomination was then withdrawn. I've now renominated the article, if you would care to vote again. Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Charlie Murphy's True Hollywood Stories: Rick James (2nd nomination). Cheers Vizjim 10:52, 12 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Your vote on my RFA

Thank you for voting on my RFA, however I've decided to withdraw my nomination. I'll perhaps nominate myself in the future once I have more experience, and not to immaturely release RFAs. Until then, I'll continue working on Wikipedia. —THIS IS MESSEDImage:R with umlaut.pngOCKER (TALK) 21:03, 12 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] My RFA

Hi Steveo2/Archive 3,

Thank you for supporting my RFA! Unfortunately it did not succeed mainly because most opposers wanted me to spend more time on Wikipedia. Thank you for your faith in me & looking forward to your continued support in the future.

Cheers

[edit] Welcome to Wikipedia:WikiProject Novels

Hi thank you for joining the WikiProject. Whenever it was. There is still plenty of scope for influencing things and making your contribution count. We are about establishing standards for Novel based articles and writing articles that meet our own and others high standards, and to improve Wikipedia's diet of articles on Fiction books, otherwise called Novels. If you have any questions, do ask. Please be very welcome. :: Kevinalewis : (Talk Page)/(Desk) 11:31, 19 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] My RFA

Image:One-hundred-WikiThanks.gif Thank you, Steveo2, for voting in my RFA. It closed with a final result of 75/1/0. Now that I am an administrator here, I will continue to improve this encyclopedia, using my new tools to revert vandalism, block persistent vandals, protect pages that have been vandalized intensively, and close AFD discussions. Any questions? Please contact me by adding a new section on my talk page. Again, thanks to all of you who participated!!! -- King of 23:18, 20 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Merci beaucoup!

Thank you,Steveo2/Archive 3!
Thank you for voting for my recent RfA, which passed (to my extreme surprise and shock) with a total tally of 66/15/2. Although you didn't give me a support vote, I would nevertheless like to thank you for your helpful comments and offer a helping hand in any admin-related tasks that may be required -- it's as simple as leaving a message on my talkpage. We are here to build an encyclopedia!

Hi Jared, and thank you for your supportive comments in my request for adminship! I'm doing my best to get that community interaction thing to where it needs to be, but you know how shy I am! :) With a final tally of (109/5/1), I have been entrusted with adminship. It's been several weeks since the conclusion of the process, so hopefully you've had a chance to see me in action. Please let me know what you think! Thanks again! ++Lar: t/c 03:25, 28 May 2006 (UTC)

Hello Jared. Thank you for your support at request for adminship which ended at the overwhelming and flattering result of (160/1/0), and leaves me in a position of having to live up to a high standard of community expectation. If you need any admin assistance, feel free to ask me, and naturally, if I make any procedural mistakes, feel free to point them out and I look forward to working with you in the future, hopefully on the birthday commitee as well.
