[edit] BPSA
I just talked to some people in Baden Powell Scouts Association and they asked me to edit the articles in accordance to their wishes. The IT-officer of Baden Powell scouts Ireland and UK lives close to me so I regulary meet up with him to see how I can edit it to a good article that is approved by Baden Powell Scouts. They wish it to be more like an advertisement while Wiki's policy is NPOV. I just edited the articles and I'm waiting for approval from them and wikipedians. [edit] Move Roman Catholic Church to Catholic Church
There is a vote at Talk:Roman Catholic Church: A Vote on the Title of this Article on moving Roman Catholic Church to Catholic Church. You are invited to review it. --WikiCats 04:33, 7 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Galloway
Steve, I am not being pedantic, I accept that your account is accurate. However, the wider community of Wikipedians requires firmer evidence. The Oxford incident was witnessed by several people, and it caused controversy firstly because Galloway declined to apologise, however insincerely, when given the chance and secondly because his conduct violated the highest standards of conduct which the institution, mindful of its priveleged position and the responsibilities that attach to that, is very keen to uphold. Additionally it has many former members all over the place from whom the University newspapers can solicit "rent-a-quotes". It would help if the source you cite has full minuites of the meeting including a description of the events, but an account in the students' newspaper duly referenced would suffice. p.s. one of the students mentioned in the Oxford reports attended the World Jamboree in Thailand. [edit] Diocesan Infobox
To the Members of the WikiProject Catholicism
I have proposed at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Catholicism an infobox for Catholic Dioceses. I have not gotten any feedback on this proposal, so I’m culling feedback, advice, corrections, etc. for this. If you have the time, would you check out User:SkierRMH/Diocese_Infobox and give me some feedback! Thanks much!!
[edit] Wood Badge
I've done some work on this lately. Can you look at the Ireland and UK parts of it for improvement? I'd like to go for GA soon. I'll be adding too. It definitely needs more wikilinks and refs. Rlevse 11:15, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Edmund Ignatius Rice
Hi there Steve,
I just have a query about the recent edit you made to the Edmund Rice article. I have several sources that state that Edmund would have been called 'Eamann' or 'Eamonn' in the home, as a Gaelicised version of 'Edmund' (or that Edmund is an Anglicised version of 'Eamonn'). Is Iognáid the Irish for 'Ignatius', his second name, or have I missed something? Would not his full name actually be 'Eamonn Iognáid Rís'? Thanks.
Rob Lindsey 22:06, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
- Many thanks for the explanation. Yeah, I'm sure we can put in some kind of explanation - somewhere. I'm not too sure how I'd go about it at the moment, but I will get around to thinking of something that doesn't look too messy (esp. if it's at the beginning of the article). [edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Larchlogo.png
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Larchlogo.png. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 22:59, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Englisc
I noticed on your userpage that you have some knowlegde of old English. Could you help me make a template or two? I need this text translated:
This user does not understand English (or understands it with considerable difficulty).
This user speaks English at a near-native level.
This user is able to contribute with a professional level of English.
Thank you in advance. Cheers. --Stefán Örvarr Sigmundsson 16:50, 2 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image:46104.jpg
I have tagged Image:46104.jpg as {{no rationale}}, because it does not provide a fair use rationale. If you believe the image to be acceptable for fair use according to Wikipedia policy, please provide a rationale explaining as much, in accordance with the fair use rationale guideline, on the image description page. Please also consider using {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. Thank you. MER-C 06:26, 7 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Copyright and CGI
Thank you for raising the issue of copyright on the Catholic Guides of Ireland page. I'm attempting to re-write and improve the article. If you think there are still copyright issues in a few days time, then please keep talking about it so it can be fixed. Thanks again. Kingbird 19:10, 21 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Image source problem with Image:Beaverslogo.jpg
This is an automated message from a robot. You have recently uploaded Image:Beaverslogo.jpg. The file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 15:38, 12 September 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. If you believe you received this message in error, please notify the bot's owner. [edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Manx scarf.jpg
Thank you for uploading Image:Manx scarf.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 16:08, 8 March 2008 (UTC)
