[edit] Elections!

Please stop that series of changes. Longer message to follow. --BrownHairedGirl 19:38, 11 August 2006 (UTC)

Sorry for the terse message above, but I just wanted to get a message to you ASAP. The small changes you are making look sensible, but in fact are not accurate.
The "48th United Kingdom general election of 1983" (as you have labelled United Kingdom general election, 1983) is a bit misleading, because it could be read as the 48th election that year .. and ven if it is not, isn't actually the 48th UK general election. The first UK parliament co-opted the members of the predecessor parliaments, and was not directly elected ... so the 1983 election was actually the 47th election, albeit to the 48th parliament.
I really think that putting the numbers in there is not necessary, but if you do want to them in, why not use some construct like "The United Kingdom general election of 1983, to the 48th UK Parliament, was held on June 9, 1983 and gave the Conservatives and Margaret Thatcher...".
That's the least clumsy way I can see of getting the nunber in there, which is why I think the number would be better left out. --BrownHairedGirl 19:46, 11 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] License tagging for Image:Ieuan Wyn Jones.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Ieuan Wyn Jones.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 13:07, 14 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] MSPs

Hi there- good work on the MSP templates- they are excellent and complement the party navigation ones I created! Thunderwing 20:51, 21 May 2007 (UTC)

Yeah the colours look- they certainly brighten up the templates. Thunderwing 14:29, 23 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Chiltern Hundreds

Thanks for the link. I had been looking everwhere for one. Cheers. youngamerican (ahoy hoy) 18:03, 27 June 2007 (UTC)

Hi Stephen, I have removed the succession boxes which you had added to articles on James Molyneaux and others as Steward of the Chiltern Hundreds. Please see Talk:Tony Blair#Chiltern_Hundreds_succession_box for an explanation. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 18:45, 28 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Brown Cabinet

Thank you; I appreciate it. Now the great challenge, should we decide to embark on it, will be to to create cabinet templates for all PMs, going back, I suppose, to Robert Walpole.

By the way, what do you think of Template:Great Offices of State? My own view is the number of entries (four, invariably) is too small to render it particularly useful. Biruitorul 00:05, 6 July 2007 (UTC)
