[edit] Hello folks.

So talk...! Steelwool (talk) 22:10, 31 December 2007 (UTC)

Hi, Steelwool. Just thought I'd mention that I have plans to do some work on the John Maclean article, and thought I'd sound you out about it, as you seem to be the main other interested party. I feel that he is a significant enough figure to deserve a much more thorough article (and along the way the Red Clydeside article could be polished up as well).
I've known of Maclean for some time, and his life and period do interest me. A recent weekend in Glasgow set me thinking about him. I've got hold of Nan Milton's biography, and I'll work through that. Can't promise it will be very quick, as I've other things on.Rob - Robhogg (talk) 23:06, 12 March 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for the reply. I'm aware of the danger of relying too much on a single source, and any additional references would be helpful. I'm planning to seek out a copy of Revolt on the Clyde, and I've found a few online resources such as a History of the Social-Democratic Federation by Martin Crick on Google Books (only a "Partial Preview", but it's a substantial part), and (of course) Maclean's own writings on the Marxists Internet Archive.
