DRUMMERS: Matt "Muck" Muckle Kirke Jan Jason Gerken David Brotherton

[edit] BIOGRAPHIES

MATT "MUCK" MUCKLE

Matt Muckle, known to friends and fans simply as Muck, has been playing drums since the incredible age of two. While other tykes were playing with Tonka Trucks and GI Joe figures, Matt was developing his trademark style and remarkable skills by banging on the drums in his parents bedroom.

Now a professional musician, Matt has played drums on several nationally released major label albums as well as countless independent releases. He and his former band Sinomatic, produced by Eric Valentine, toured with various rocks icons while promoting their Atlantic Records debut album. While touring, Matt honed his professional skills by emulating some of the legendary rock acts that the band supported, such as ACDC, Alice Cooper, Cheap Trick and Kid Rock. After Sinomatic dissolved, Matt was approached by Josh Todd and Keith Nelson of Buckcherry to join the band and record for their third album. He also began to record and play for guitar hero, DJ Ashba, who is currently playing for Nikki Sixx’s latest band, Sixx A.M. Matt’s next endeavor was to pound the skins for Universal recording artist Cherry Monroe, mixed by Tom Lord-Alge. This would be the first of many albums that Matt was asked to play on for Rust/Universal Records.

While residing in Huntington Beach California, Matt is often hired to travel to various cities by bands and producers such as Rick Beato and Grammy nominee, David Ivory. When he isn’t off recording in a different city, he is teaching 50+ drum lessons a week. Of the students that go on to college after his tutelage, many go on to receive scholarships by highly accredited music schools such as The Berklee College of Music or Carnegie Mellon University. Besides being a studio musician, a drum instructor and a live performer, Matt Muckle is also an author. He has written a modern intermediate drum instruction book which is set to be published in early 2008.

Whether it’s jazz or rock and roll, live shows or studio tracks, Matt truly has a signature sound among a pool of formulated, cookie-cutter drummers. Focused and driven, yet always original and entertaining, Matt Muckle’s drumming style will no doubt, be an influence in popular music to come.
