[[Forlorn]]

Staring through the bitter, biting window She is found, she too stares, though not at me. Like the cool breeze in the spring, she is my piercing snow Verbose in response, she tells me nothing, nothing I cannot see. Like in a dream I cannot recall, she is vanished Her visage, once lucid, now a recollection. With her departure, a realization, I am finished. Her gifts of glance, the object of my affection.

The Earth shakes. As the sky cries. My heart aches. As she dies.

In her transcendence, an image clear, No reason to hide, Or cower in fear. To our same fate I do abide. To meet her in that delighted place, To see her hands, To touch the face.

In my disillusioned mind I stammer through the darkness To find ‘Tis not her that did regress But, rather, my once beating soul, Which so briefly had its place, Hath found its place with fiery coal. Now, with countenance I begin my pace Away from life Away from day.

‘Tis with my final question that, I summon her to ponder so, Recall you, the parks where we once sat? My heart, I beg you, to not let go.
