I'm new to Wikipedia - just saw some incorrect statements and thought I'd submit a correction.
Basics on me: I'm currently Department Head for the Department of Computer Science at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Before this gig, I was at the University of North Texas, where I was an Associate Professor and Director of the Center for Information and Computer Security (designated by the NSA and DHS as a "National Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Education"). My research is in computer security and cryptography, and I'm particularly interested in models for proving or reasoning about the security of systems. Lately this has been focused on looking at how different system models affect what can or cannot be done securely, with special emphasis on modifying the computing model by adding extra capabilities through hardware augmentation ("hardware-assisted security", including technologies such as the Trusted Platform Module specification of the Trusted Computing Group).
I received my Ph.D. from Duke University in 1991, and have worked in several areas since then, including algorithms, circuit complexity, robotic motion planning, and data compression. As an undergrad, I received a triple major in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, and Mathematics (in 1986) from Vanderbilt University.
