Stewie is a proud member of the Republican party. I have made some changes and the page now correctly informs the user that Stewie is a proud adorer of the truth.

Freudian feelings as refered to in the article are primarily a Oedipal Complex thing where one desires the death of ones father so that one can have sexual relations with ones mother. While Stewie doesn't like Peter and wishes him dead at times, it isn't with the goal of sexual relations with his mother. So, I would propose, and thus edit that stewies matricidal tendancies are not Freudian. Dark Nexus 18:27, 11 December 2005 (UTC)

Isn't Stewie a reincarnation of somebody? In that episode where they couldn't get onto the plane, he says " Oh, I forgot, you have to actually punch in teh numbers now!"

I can think of at least one other example of dialogue to support your reincarnation theory. When Stewie talked to Meg's friends at the slumber party, he said something like "Invite that guy you like to the ice cream box social, or whatever it is you kids do these days." Cromulent Kwyjibo 15:08, 7 Oct 2004 (UTC)

In Several other Episodes Stewie uses small phrases like "Whatever the devil it is you kids are doing these days" or "what do the children call it these days?" referring to old age, so perhaps he is a reincarnated spirit. Or maybe it means nothing.

It means nothing. It is referring to the fact that Stewie is not your typical baby. He thinks more like an elderly man than a 1-year-old. It is also buying into the stereotypes that his accent invokes. Kakashi-sensei 23:56, 6 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Seth McFarlane has explicitly stated that the other characters can indeed understand Stewie, but they don't take him seriously because he is just a baby. Much of the article should probably be rewritten with this in mind. [[User:Livajo|力伟|т]] 01:13, 10 Oct 2004 (UTC)

i think all the discussion of if when and how people understand stewie is pretty silly and irrelevant. in shows like the family guy there aren't fixed "rules" that are consistent from episode to episode. my $.02 --Johnjosephbachir 05:44, 5 Jan 2005 (UTC)

You find the discussion "silly and irrelevant." I find it fun and fascinating, and I suspect that the creators of the show would be pleased that at least one aspect of the show fascinates viewers like this. Cromulent Kwyjibo 22:05, 18 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Seth MacFarlane actually says in the commentary (it might have been "E Peterbus Unum") that they've decided not to have a set rule over whether or not the other characters can understand him. He specifically says that the situation and the gag will determine the other characters' comprehension of what he says. Kakashi-sensei 13:31, 12 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Why does this little kid talk in an adult voice?

Cause it's a cartoon. User:The Republican02:48, 8 October 2005 (UTC)

"Stewie falls for his babysitter, Liddane, and even murders, though unintentionally, a rival suitor for her affections." I was thinking about that after I saw that episode, and the teenager probably didn't die. I'm not sure if Brian's Toyota Prius has one of those things you can pull that opens the trunk, or if it's either too old or not the right make and model. Also, on many cars it's possible to simply push back the back seat, then from their get out. Also, if Brian heard a clunking, he probably would have checked on it somehow, even if...what did he say...the lock was stripped. Though evidence that would lead to him dying would be the lack of oxygen, making him suffocate, and if none of those three ways of him escaping were applicable. Anyway, it seems like it's only a POSSIBILITY that Liddane's boyfriend died in the back of Brian's car.

The last scene of the show has Stewie suddenly remembering Jeremy; he says something like "God, what's it been... two, three weeks now? Yup, he's dead." Besides, the guy was tied up and gagged, so he definitely couldn't have pulled the trunk release handle. If it really had been three weeks, he probably died of starvation/thirst.

How many times do I have to say it? He could have survived because IT'S A FREAKING CARTOON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My God,everything has to make sense everywere! User:The Republican02:48, 8 October 2005 (UTC)

Thank God for you, Republican. I'm glad someone else here doesn't take everything so seriously. Cabez 06:04, 8 March 2006 (UTC)
I don't hear anyone complaining IT'S A FREAKING ANTIQUE BOOK!!!!!! about the Odyssey or the plays of Shakespeare. Cromulent Kwyjibo 20:56, 26 May 2006 (UTC)

Holy shit youre boring

Whoever wrote this article actually managed to make Stewie boring, you sir SUCK! Over analyzing etc.

"F**k"

Why is there a revert war going on about this? I thought Wikipedia's guidelines stated that profanities were acceptable if they were in quotations, which this is. -DynSkeet (talk) 23:17, August 8, 2005 (UTC)

The answer is simple. Some people don't read the entire profanity standards article, which is odd since it's so short. I'll quote the relevant part here so more people don't have to go through the "trouble" and find it themselves, but they can surely check to verify it's there:
When including a quote, do not censor. Instead, include what the person said (so long as the quote is relevant). If you do not wish to type profane language at all, consider paraphrasing. --Wikipedia:Profanity

Spoiler Warning

I added a spoiler warning for the Stewie Movie, remember when talking about movies/shows and it contains info about a episode it is usually required. Mike 11:07, 29 December 2005 (UTC)

stewie griffin

Stewie Griffin is a one-year-old baby with a single goal: total world domination. He has the voice and manner of an evil Rex Harrison, but he's only recently celebrated the one-year anniversary of his escape from his mother's "cursed ovarian Bastille," in which he was incarcerated for nine grueling months. Stewie has vowed to defeat his mother's matriarchal tyranny and topple the "gynocracy" she rules.

Just because Lois has narrowly escaped several attempts on her life thus far (from a box of chocolates filled with active grenades to a barrage of arrows shot straight for her head) doesn't mean she's in the clear yet. Stewie might begrudge Lois a modicum of respect for being the worthy adversary she is, but don't be fooled. One day her uppance shall come!

In fact, if it were not for his lack of muscle tone and toilet training, as well as his need for parentally provided sustenance, Stewie already would have gained control over most of the Third World. And Canada. Until his dominion over all mankind comes to fruition, anyone or anything that interferes with his grand plan shall be destroyed. And if he can create a machine that controls the weather, what makes you think that he won't be able to control you, hmmm?

Lois Griffin is a modern-day housewife who finds time to cook, clean, run errands, teach piano and avoid daily attempts on her life by her baby son, Stewie. Of course a mother's love runs deep. So deep, she attributes his perceptual foul mood to plain old crankiness.

Born in upper-crust Newport, RI, the one-time heiress to the Pewterschmidt family estate gave up the privileged life to be with the towel boy she fell in love with. She hasn't looked back since. No matter how many times Peter falls down (in some cases due to one too many Pawtucket Patriot beers), Lois is right there to pick him up again. Lois is generally the voice of reason that Peter can't hear until it's too late. However, even Lois has been known to leave her senses. In fact, rumor has it she has put on bold and seductive piano performances right in the family's basement.

Lois is a complex and mysterious woman. Think Martha Stewart meets Barbarella.

"Notable Stewie Quotes" section?

Should we start a "Notable Stewie Quotes" section?

i.e., "The Life of the Wife is ended by the Knife!"

Good idea? Bad idea? Feedback please.

we have wikiquotes for that. You can add it there. Stupidhumanzz 23:27, 3 November 2006 (UTC)

Untold Story

The entire untold story portion of this article is horribly written, specifically, who ever wrote it uses the word 'albeit' nine itmes, this is far too often to use a single word, particulairly one as snotty as 'albeit' and makes the entire portion of the article read very poorly, some major rewording needs to be done. - Robespiere

Err, the word is only used twice, and each time it's in the right context. I don't see any problem with the section, it seems to read fine as it is. Rusty2005 19:31, 29 April 2006 (UTC)

copy editing

Article needs some serious copy editing. Tenses are incorrect, words are missing, etc.

It's a lot easier to make some vague statement about something being wrong than to do something about it. Could you at least give one example of "tenses are incorrect" and "words are missing"? Cromulent Kwyjibo 20:57, 26 May 2006 (UTC)

Bisexual?

I know it's just a cartoon, but since Stewie has been seen attracted to both men and women, would bisexual be a sufficient description? Zythe 18:41, 1 June 2006 (UTC)

And the Odyssey is just a book.
That aside, 1) Stewie is a baby, 2) "bisexual" is a label that by itself does not distinguish between attraction and action. Cromulent Kwyjibo 23:07, 1 June 2006 (UTC)

Image of Stewie

I've created a vector version of the image of Stewie at the top of the article, and was wondering if it would be of any use to this site, maybe replacing the old one. I would upload it and release it as GNU if anyone thinks it will be usefull.

Origin of Stewie

I've got a theory on where Stewie comes from. In S1E3 ("Chitty Chitty Death Bang"), it shows how Stewie as a sperm beating all the other sperm. Then he's caught and 'escapes' nine months later. According to the article, there's a strong possibility that Stewie is Peter's only child, apart from the recent character addition - which just so happens to be Stewie's arch-enemy. So is it possible, in the Family Guy universe, that everyone has at last one 'evil super genius' sperm per batch, but smarter sperm tend to beat it. In Peter's case the rest of his sperm were probably completely retarded, making it easy for the evil, smart one to get through. Gabbahead 19:30, 7 July 2006 (UTC)

Talk Show

Didn't there use to be something about a virtual talk show on this article that Stewie and Brian were going to host? I do remember this from somewhere. --S-man 10:16, 22 July 2006 (UTC)

Stewie a republican?

What episode was this said? A site I have found proves it by saying Stewie favors a flat tax. I think it takes more than favoring a flat tax to be a member of the Republican Party--Gdo01 21:44, 24 July 2006 (UTC)

Yes, it does take more than favoring flat tax. Also takes desire for world domination and a hypocritical attitude towards gays. ;) Cromulent Kwyjibo 23:33, 24 July 2006 (UTC)
Jokes aside, the Brian Griffin article also says Stewie is conservative. As quoted from what I wrote there, "Brian has continually shown his liberalism yet Stewie has only shown conservatism once. I don't think its significant enough to suggest any political leanings from Stewie and should be deleted."--Gdo01 17:44, 27 July 2006 (UTC)

There was also an episode where Stewie asked for the Wall Street Journal a newspaper widely considered to have a liberal bias. Not true, WSJ is considered to be editorial conservative.

Is this fictional character really a member of any political party? Umm no. He is there to be funny he's not real. I think speculation is pointless!
Of course a fictional character can't be a member a real life political party in the real world. However, a fictional character can be a member of the fictional mirror of a real life political party: for example, Templeton is a fictional Democrat in Commander-in-Chief. Given that Stewie has expressed a desire in world domination, if he gives any clear indication in the canon, it is relevant to this article. Cromulent Kwyjibo 16:03, 17 August 2006 (UTC)

He want's to dominate the world, so that makes him Conservative? What an insanely ridiculous assumption. I hope I am misunderstanding. 216.114.204.23 23:25, 12 September 2006 (UTC)

Trivia

Should the trivia section on this article be removed? It only has one piece of information, which is stated elsewhere in the article.

Agreed. I have added the reference to Ricky Martin in the 'Sexuality' section and removed the Trivia section entirely. No need. whysanitynet 20:51, 20 September 2006 (UTC)

Comparisons

Does anyone have any references for these comparisons to other characters? They seem entirely like original research (and thats being polite to idle speculation comparing Stewie to any fictional character he might happen to share one character trait with). I think there are valid comparisons, but these will have valid sources.Jameskeates 11:31, 17 August 2006 (UTC)

Stewie only remides me of the brian. Hanniable Lector is not benot world domination, in addition he murders for pleasure. Stewie gets no intrinsic pleasure from murdering in it self. He murder or ties to murder out of revenge, or to advance his goals.

Yeah some of the comparisons are dodgy. This isn't an article on what Wikipedia authors think about comparisons to Stewie, it doesn't matter whether you see the resemblence or not, its original research which shouldn't be in an encyclopedia, if people have made comparisons before they can be put in or referenced. I am going to reference Jimmy Corrigan (which MacFarlane himself has commented on) and delete the rest. Feel free to reinstate any with citations.Jameskeates 07:42, 18 August 2006 (UTC)

It didn't seem worth keeping that one character comparison, it already exists in the criticism of Family Guy article. Jameskeates 07:46, 18 August 2006 (UTC)

Head Shape

This section is rather poorly organized... does anyone with real editing experience want to have a go at it? Mchmike 20:51, 19 August 2006 (UTC)

article quality

I'm a big fan of family guy but this article goes a bit too far. My two largest complaints are the section on "Communication with adults" and the quotes section. The quotes should be transwikied to wikiquote. Communication with adults should not include an exhaustive list of every time he's spoken with an adult. Anyone object to these large removals? Vicarious 05:17, 22 September 2006 (UTC)

Agreed, this is way OTT. "Communication with adults" should probably be reduced to the info above from the interview with McFarlane (assuming there's a source), with a single example each of when he is or is not understood/acknowledged. However, I think the problems go further - the article is far too verbose in all areas. (It is in fact 25% longer than the Family Guy article) Ajcham 15:05, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

Gender Vandalism

Just to say, on Stewie's profile to the right where it says his gender, it said "fucking hot male baby", which I have reverted to simply just "male". Jacob "Badger Head" Morris 17:19, 9 October 2006 (UTC)

Multi-lingual

can't stewie speak more then one language, for instance in a cut seen from "You May Now Kiss the...Uh...Guy Who Receives" he holds a conversation with Jasper's boyfriend. I believe he has spoken or at least understood other languages also. 63.139.174.19 08:27, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
