[edit] Independent sources
I need to add these references but am not sure how:
http://www.allbusiness.com/marketing-advertising/marketing-techniques-sponsorship/6435679-1.html http://www.microsoft.com/presspass/press/1999/dec99/platformmompr.mspx http://www.microsoft.com/presspass/press/1999/dec99/kisspr.mspx http://www.net4tv.com/Voice/story.cfm?id=1&StoryID=1759 http://www.allbusiness.com/technology/software-services-applications-network-software/5880143-1.html
It's interesting that their first announcements did not disclose that they were working on conversational interfaces but "chat."It looks like The Kiss Principle, Inc. was renamed in 2002 when they started with Echostar --Gwizard (talk) 01:29, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Notability
There doesn't seem to be a single independent source about this guy... --Paultopia (talk) 05:54, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
- I created this page. He qualifies as a notable subject if I've read the criteria right. I put the references to his work there. There are independent references. For example, I found a feature article in Electronics News ( http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m0EKF/is_n2228_v44/ai_20930667 written in 1998), there are others and lots of Google hits. He has developed significant programming languages for parallel computers. I know Occam and his other work. I know that alone is not good enough to put here. It is only part of why I added the page. I added the page at first because I was researching the resurgence in parallel computing and many core computers, I work on large databases, I knew of the work he did at Yale and at Inmos, his papers can be found on the Yale computer science web site and I found him referenced recently on the Berkeley parallel computing web site. --Gwizard (talk) 01:03, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Citations and references needed
The publications referenced need citations.
--Myscience 01:59, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
-
- Yeah, I'll find them and add them when I have time - I've seen them on the citation web sites. --Gwizard 23:26, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
I am not sure that he is British or a Computer Scientist today. He was those things once but now seems to be American and some other kind of scientist. There is also an interesting autobio of his online. Not sure if we can quote it. --Gwizard 23:29, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] PLEASE NOTE
I am NOT THE designer of Occam - Occam was designed by several people. Sure I made contributions and wrote the primary document published in 1987/1988 by Prentice Hall (The Occam 2 Reference Manual). I have not written MANY books on parallel processing and I am the Editor, NOT the author, of Parallel Processing and Artificial Intelligence - that volume is the proceedings of a conference that I ran at Imperial College in London in 1989.
I am a little uncomfortable having an entry in Wikipedia. If this is not a candidate for deletion (which I think it is) then at least get the facts straight.
See http://www.stevenzenith.com/publications.html for references - and please do some research.

Yeah, sorry it took me so long to get back to this. I corrected the text and added references. --Gwizard 23:13, 28 August 2007 (UTC)
I think it is more useful to talk more about his recent work. He's doesn't like that he has an article here but I wouldn't let that stop you :-) --Myscience 20:55, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
You know more about that than me. Why don't you add it? --Gwizard (talk) 00:07, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
