[edit] Stats

Stats All these stats were just copied from baseball-reference.com, these should be on a seperate page in WikiSource (Steve Garvey Baseball Stats), with the highlights here. Opinions? WikiDon 11:13, 8 Jun 2005 (UTC)

  • Terminate the stats with extreme prejudice. They clutter up the article, and as you said, Don, there are plenty of places stats junkies can go to get those numbers. Dale Arnett 11:25, 8 Jun 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Any baseball info here?!

Wow, I came here to look for any info re: Garvey's HR off Lee Smith in the 1984 NLCS and could barely find any baseball info through the controversies and personal stuff! This sounds more like a gossip column than an encyclopedia article! Any chance someone could try to balance it out a little or do I need to do it myself? —Wknight94 (talk) 14:17, 13 August 2006 (UTC)

I agree. Steve Garvey was a great baseball player. The article should be devoted to what he did. Further, the information about his alleged affairs isn't supported by the references. I deleted that portion of the article. Never been to spain 20:45, 14 August 2006 (UTC)

I'm not sure about removing it all entirely but it completely dominates the article. When time permits, I'm working on the Lee Smith (baseball) article which is the WP:COTW but maybe I'll devote some time to this mess after that. —Wknight94 (talk) 21:00, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
Garvey had a long baseball career... surely someone could rewrite this article to allow for more than one tiny paragraph on his playing career. Spanneraol 23:39, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Errorless streak

Should something be said about steves 193 game errorless streak; the longest errorless streak of an infielder in MLB history?--Gephart 14:31, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
