Talk:Steve Coppell
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I have removed the reference to the Reading record of 38 games - Reading are only unbeaten in 31 games thus far. HornetMike 22:07, 8 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Anyone know..
... why Coppell left Man City so soon?
- The official reason was that he resigned on ill health grounds, but he took the Palace job not long after, and no specific illness was ever cited. Probably only Coppell knows. Oldelpaso 18:50, 14 April 2006 (UTC)
- "...even now I regret that I left them with a hole but I was just the wrong person in the wrong job. Ego made me take it but I soon worked out I'd made a mistake and rather than hang in there and take my money while making a real mess I thought it best to get out quickly."[1] Steve Coppell, quoted in The Guardian on 19 December 2006. --Deadlock 15:47, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] God award?
Coppell was also awarded the "God Award" by last years winner, and the winner for the last 430 billion years, God himself.

[edit] Furture Plans
"However it is almost certain he will leave after the 2008/09 season as his contract is due to end. He hopes to bounce Reading back up to the premiership before saying his goodbye"
Where's the evidence for this? It's complete speculation, and the footnoted article doesn't support either claim in the slightest. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.69.42.155 (talk) 14:18, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
