Talk:Steam quality

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I believe the opposite is true. Steam with a quality of 1 is completely dry. Steam with a quality of 0 is completely saturated. Therefore, quality is the proportion of steam that is superheated.

[edit] Steam Quality Meaning of "Superheated"

Superheated steam, I believe is steam above the saturation temperature at a given pressure. Superheated steam by definition would have a quality of 1.

See [1]

Therefore since steam quality pertains to saturated steam, then I believe that quality can defined as the mass fraction of water in the vapour phase divided by the total (ie liquid + vapour) MarDel 18:11, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
