Stewartstown Railroad

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Stewartstown Railroad is a defunct heritage railroad that operated in Stewartstown, Pennsylvania.

Created in the 1880's by local interests in the Stewartstown area, the Stewartstown Railroad survives today in very much original condition. Retaining its original corporate charter, the STRT may be the only railroad in the United States to claim that title. Out of service since 2004, the railroad has a crew of volunteers working to resume operations.

Stewartstown Railroad Station is a Registered Historic Place in York County, Pennsylvania.[1]
