Stevie Cowan is widely recognised as the most prolific striker in Irish League history and certainly in Portadown's history. The Scottish born front man moved to Portadown FC in 1989 were he won two league titles and an Irish Cup winners medal in his short spell at Shamrock Park.
Even though he had much publicised trouble with both his knees, meaning he could not run too fast, he still used his superior football brain and skill to carve open defences and score bucketloads for the Ports. He also played for hibernian and aberdeen and won a league title with aberdeen in the 80's
