Stevens & Grdnic
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Stevens & Grdnic (Ron Stevens and Joy Grdnic, the latter's surname pronounced "GRID-nick") are comedians having worked as major market radio morning hosts, written for network TV comedies, and released two Grammy-nominated comedy albums, Somewhere over the Radio and Retail Comedy at Wholesale Prices. The latter album featured "Fast Food", about a frustrating encounter at a fast-food drive-thru. The piece received its first radio airing on 4 July 1982, but was written and performed at least a year earlier.[citation needed]
Stevens & Grdnic's work is syndicated on more than 450 radio stations by All Star Radio Networks, and some of their recordings have been featured on Dr. Demento's radio show.
One of their most successful recordings, though nearly forgotten today, was "Commercials on 45". Obviously inspired by the Stars on 45 medleys, this was basically several of Stevens & Grdnic's parodies of commercials strung together and set to music.
