[edit] Education and career

Van Slyke received his B.A. degree in chemistry from Ithaca College and his M.S. degree in materials science form Rochester Institute of Technology. He has been employed at the Eastman Kodak Research Laboratories since 1979.

In June 2001 Van Slyke and a colleague received an Industrial Innovation Award from the American Chemical Society for their work with organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs). [1]

In 2004 he became an Associate Editor of the Journal of the Society for Information Display.[2]
