Steven T. Walther

Steven T. Walther was appointed to be a commissioner on the Federal Elections Commission by recess appointment on January 4, 2006. [1] He was first nominated to the FEC position by George W. Bush on December 16, 2005, and then again on February 10, 2006. Both times the Senate failed to vote on his nomination. [2]
Prior to joining the FEC as a Commissioner, Mr. Walther practiced law in the Reno, Nevada law firm of Walther, Key, Maupin, Oats, Cox & LeGoy which he co-founded in 1972. [3]
