Steven Osborne (pianist)

Steven Osborne (born 1971) is a Scottish pianist.

Taught by Richard Beauchamp at St. Mary's Music School, Edinburgh and Renna Kellaway at the Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester. After graduating from Manchester University/RNCM (joint course), Steven went on to win first prize in the prestigious Clara Haskil Competition in 1991 and the Naumburg International Competition in New York in May 1997.

His recordings on the Hyperion label have been acclaimed in the musical press - for example his recordings of Olivier Messiaen's Vingt regards sur l'enfant Jésus, Liszt's Harmonies poétiques et religieuses and works by Nikolai Kapustin.

Osborne has performed with numerous orchestras such as the Singapore Symphony Orchestra.
