Steven M. Evarts, left hand pitcher,[1] was the second selection in the first round in the 2006 Atlanta Braves Draft. Evarts was born October 13, 1987[1] He is listed by the Braves as standing 6'3" and weighing 180 pounds. Evarts was assigned to the Gulf Coast Braves (Rookie League) upon signing with the Braves on June 13, 2006 for a reported $800K signing bonus.[2] In June 2007 the Atlanta Braves assigned Evarts to the Danville Braves in the Advanced Rookie Appalachian League.[3] In 2006 Evarts graduated from Thomas Richard Robinson High School, Tampa, Florida.[4]
Evarts was arrested on December 17, 2006 and charged with criminal mischief after a woman's SUV was damaged by a baseball bat.[2]
