Steven Krause is the vocalist of the US hardcore band From Behind The Pictures Eyes. Well known for his time spent in the Detroit industrial/metal act Inflextion and industrial/hardcore juggernaut, Too Many Gods, Steven Krause is one of the more famed local Detroit musicians of the early 21st century.

In addition to his work with From Behind The Pictures Eyes, Krause has also been involved in the Detroit acts Until This Ends, Inflextion and Too Many Gods.

[edit] Career

Steven Krause first burst onto the Detroit scene, taking over as the front man for Detroit industrial/hardcore juggernaut Too Many Gods in late 2000.

Krause spent 2 years with Too Many Gods, touring the US and learning the ropes of the musical industry, recording only one unreleased live album with the band before defecting onto his own, to cut his teeth on his own project, from his own vision.

Spawning from his departure from Too Many Gods, Krause began the project Inflextion from scratch, setting out to find the perfect blend of musicians and vision that he had for the project - This all came to fruition in mid 2003, when Krause, along with guitarist Jay Baker and drummer Chris Duggan spawned what would become one of the most dynamic, powerful metal acts to ever hit the Mideast and inflextion was born.

Bringing Joe Rivera on bass and Mike Schbath on guitar, on board - Inflextion would go on to play over 200 shows over the next 2 years while touring and building an immense fan-base. They went on to record their very highly acclaimed industry EP 'Inflextion' under the direction of Tony Gammalo at Spider Studios in Strongsville, OH and in late 2004 began pre-production on their first LP 'From the ashes...'. By mid 2005, tensions rose amongst the band members following defunct talks with Elektra records and an increasing push by Krause, leading to the break up that very year.

This led Krause back to some soul searching, where he vowed to give it 'one last real shot', which would re-unite him with high school friend and guitarist, song-writer Chris Longo.

Krause spent time in the band Until This Ends along with Longo on guitar, Mike Tripp on bass and Jon Wagner on drums from 2005 through 2006, recording "When Tomorrow's Already Too Late". A Rock/Hardcore outfit, Until This Ends featured Krause's distinct, empowering screams, however, also showcased his lesser shown vocal melody and range in songs such as "Walking Away", a catchy, melody-laden hit, embracing his vocal prowess and powerful lyrical command.

In late 2006, the music industry finally got the best of Krause and he walked away from it all, citing the state of the music industry and the expectations of what an artist should be getting to be too much for him.

After a lengthy hiatus from the music industry, Krause re-united with Longo in late 2007 to form From Behind The Pictures Eyes alongside Mike Knight on bass and Chris Norrus on drums, a hardcore act poking fun at the industry which drove him away and with a left of center direction towards its approach.

[edit] Personal life

Prior to his musical career Steven Krause played hockey for 12 years before having a blown MCL and ACL at the age of 16, ending his hockey career. To this day, he is an avid hockey fan and supporter, known to coach in his spare time and offer consultation to younger players.

Krause is also quite an avid technology buff, working in information technology and known to be a computer enthusiast.
