Steven Gilborn (born 1936) is an American television and film actor.
Gilborn has guest starred in a number notable television series including JAG, ER, The West Wing, and NYPD Blue. He has also had recurring roles in such shows as Ellen (as the title character's father), The Practice, Picket Fences, L.A. Law, Living Single, four Columbo films, and the short-lived FOX drama Get Real. Perhaps his most notable recurring role was his three episode stint as Mr. Collins, Kevin's algebra teacher on The Wonder Years.
Before becoming an actor, Gilborn was a Professor of Humanities at M.I.T. He also taught at Stanford, Columbia and at the University of California, Berkeley. He earned a B.A. at Swarthmore College and a Ph.D. from Stanford University. He is married to the American landscape photographer Karen Halverson.
