Steve Yzerman Arena

The Steve Yzerman Arena is a 3,000-seat multi-purpose arena in Nepean, Ontario. It is home to the Nepean Raiders Junior A ice hockey team in the Central Junior A Hockey League. It is named after native son, Steve Yzerman of the Detroit Red Wings who played one year with the Raiders as a junior before joining the Peterborough Petes of the Ontario Hockey League. The official naming ceremony was held during the summer of 1997 when Yzerman visited with the Stanley Cup which he had won in 1996-97 with the Detroit Red Wings The arena is in the Nepean Sportsplex, a multi-purpose sports facility.
