Stephen Torpey (born December 8, 1970 in Islington, London) is an English football player, currently playing for Farsley Celtic.
Torpey had played for a number of clubs, before signing for Scunthorpe United from Bristol City in February 2000. He was Scunthorpe's record transfer signing, costing £175,000. Torpey broke the ten goal barrier in each of his first five seasons at Scunthorpe and represented the club over 250 times.
He was released at the end of the 2006-07 season, after only playing a small part in the club's promotion to the Championship. He subsequently signed for League Two side Lincoln City,[1] but moved on again after six months, joining Farsley Celtic after a successful loan spell.
