Steve Rooney

Steve Rooney (born June 28, 1962 in Canton, Massachusetts, United States) is a retired American ice hockey forward. Rooney played his HS hockey at Canton HS graduating in 1981. Rooney along with Bobby Carpenter, Scott Fusco & Rich Costello were considered the best forwards from Massachusetts from the 1981 class.

Rooney started his National Hockey League career with the Montreal Canadiens in 1985. He played with the Winnipeg Jets and New Jersey Devils. He retired after the 1989 season. He went on to win one Stanley Cup with Montreal in 1986.
