Steve Porter (producer)

Steve Porter is a dance music producer, remixer and DJ originally from Amherst, Massachusetts. Porter, who began producing electronic music at the age of sixteen, was discovered by Chris Fortier in 1999 and was signed to Fortier's Fade Records label. Since this time he has toured the world extensively on DJ tours and has released over thirty remixes and fifty original productions (using his own name and monikers Chop Shop, Driven Child, Saturated Fatty, HDF & Bons and Agent 001, with fellow Boston DJ/producer Eli Wilkie).
Fans describe his sound as "Porterhouse" which is comprised of his unique blend between various genres of dance music. "Porterhouse" is also the name given to nightclub events in which Porter plays music. Porter often makes DJ sets, remixes and productions of his available to download on his website free of charge, several of which are unsolicited or unreleased versions of popular club and pop hits. 2005 saw the release of Homegrown, a DJ-mixed artist album on FDS Recordings. In 2006 he released his critically acclaimed "Porterhouse" compilation which included many of his close friends productions in the mix.
