One-time bassist for the Punk Rock band The Vandals, from 1981-1984. Also known as "Human", he plays on their debut EP, Peace Thru Vandalism. Born in San Francisco, California in 1963 to German immigrants and attending Los Alamitos High, he co-founded The Vandals in 1979, starting out as lead vocalist. Steve has also played bass in the Los Angeles punk rock band Detox, making two full-length albums which featured six songs he wrote while touring the US and Canada. Later he joined Ken All Night Rocker. Human also roadied for TSOL on their first two nationwide tours in 1980-1982. He was once known for t-shirt designs owning his own silkscreen shop at age sixteen. He now works in the movie industry as a set dresser on productions such as Leaving Las Vegas and Spider-Man 3, but has recently developed back problems, temporarily forcing him to stop working.
