Steve K. Munsey is the pastor of the Family Christian Center in Munster, Indiana. [1] He is frequently seen on the Trinity Broadcasting Network, DayStar, and local stations throughout the United States. Munsey's teaching fits solidly within the Word of Faith/Prosperity Gospel brand of evangelical theology.

Steve Munsey is the son of Pastor Frank and Ruth Munsey.[2]

Munsey is married to his wife pastor Melodye and has two children daughter Candace and his son Kent II along with Kent's wife Allison. He has four grandchildren, Malachi, Kausti, Shealee and Chantel.

Dr. Munsey has stated his influences to be Jesus Christ, his father, Dr. Lester Sumrall, and all the Generals of the Faith. [3] Steve Munsey's parents, Frank and Ruth Munsey, founded the Family Christian Center in 1953 and upon their retirement in 1985, Steve Munsey was elected pastor. [2] The church was originally located in Hessville, Indiana until the congregation moved to Griffith, Indiana.[2] In Easter 2000, the church moved into it's new facility the size of the facility has been doubled since then. [2] At nineteen years old, Steve wrote the Jesus of Nazareth play, which is a passion drama.[4] Since being written the play has been used by other churches across the United States, and also has a permanent home in the outdoor amphitheatre in Puyallup,Washington and a second home in Munster, Indiana, at the Family Christian Center. [4] Since Dr. Munsey's ministering of the Family Christian Center, the church increase greatly through the years. Steve Munsey commonly uses visual arts to minister to the body of Christ and to the unsaved making him unique.[4]

The current population of the church is 10,000 memeber and growing. [1] In 2005, over 50,000 viewed Jesus of Nazareth written by Munsey in the two largest venues Seattle, Washington and Munster, Indiana. [1] He is a national spokesman for the television documentary called Exposing the DaVinci Code as seen on Pay per View, national television and cable TV outlets. [1] Munsey how spoken out boldly against the DaVinci Code as many other pastors. In addition, he is regularly featured in the Wall Street Journal newspaper as a key national figure spokesman for key issues. New York Times magazine recently featured Dr. Munsey for being a prestigious religious leader sensitive to issues concerning Jews from around the globe, especially Israel. [1] Pastor Steve Munsey is a regular on "This Is Your Day" with Benny Hinn and many more national and international television programs seen daily such as; Paula White's Paula Today talk show.[4] Steve Munsey has also caught the attention of; Time magazine, People magazine, Ladies Home Journal and Fox News which have featured his trendy creative edge, spotlighting his Starbucks café in the lobby of the church.
