Steve Howey (born July 12, 1977 in San Antonio, Texas) is an American film and television actor best known for his role as Van Montgomery in the television series Reba. He has guest-starred on ER, The Drew Carey Show, Any Day Now and Twins. His films include Supercross and DOA: Dead or Alive.
His father is acting coach Bill Howey; he currently lives in Los Angeles, California.

Born Steve Michael Robert Howey in San Antonio, Texas, Howey spent several years of his early childhood living on boats with his parents. They eventually settled in a Los Angeles suburb where he attended junior high and most of high school. After moving to Denver to complete his senior year, he earned a basketball scholarship to a junior college in Colorado. He began to lose interest in basketball in his second year and turned, instead, to drama, joining his father's (acting coach Bill Howey) acting class. Reba marks his first series starring role. He has previously guest-starred on shows including ER (1994) and The Drew Carey Show (1995). He also starred in and produced the independent film Class (1998), which was written and directed by his father and was accepted into the Denver International Film Festival. In 2001 Howey got the role of Van Montgomery in the CW sitcom Reba which he starred in until 2007. In 2005 he starred in the action film Supercross as K.C. Carlyle a striving MX racer that faces struggles with his brother,friends and family. He was in the TV movie The Beast in 2007 and is currently working on Still Waiting... which will be out in 2008. He is currently Filming "Bride Wars" an upcoming film starring Anne Hathaway and Kate Hudson

Howey is in a relationship with actress Sarah Shahi who starred as Carmen de la Pica Morales in the Showtime show The L Word. Shahi has worked with acting coach Bill Howey, Steve's father.
