Steve Hillier (born 14 May 1969, in Southampton) is a British keyboardist, songwriter and record producer. He began his career in music as a DJ at the age of fifteen in London, latterly in Newcastle upon Tyne. He is perhaps known chiefly for his work as the songwriter in the UK dance music/pop band, Dubstar, and as a songwriter and record producer of British and international acts. [1]
He is also a journalist, who was first published at the age of twelve in Sinclair User magazine, later contributing to Melody Maker and Music Technology magazines. He is a contributor to the Future Music magazine. Articles of note include "Success", a fourteen part series exploring the music industry.
He is a regular contributor on BBC radio shows and the BBC website, commenting on songwriting and the music industry.
