Steve Gonsalves is the technical manager of The Atlantic Paranormal Society (TAPS), based in Warwick, Rhode Island.

Gonsalves, a native of New Bedford, Massachusetts of Portuguese ancestry, started investigating the paranormal when he was only 16 and formed New England Paranormal in 2001.[1] Gonsalves occasionally gives lectures on the paranormal, such as one called "Ghostbusters! The Science Behind Paranormal Investigations" which he presented on January 28, 2005 at the Boston Center for Adult Education.[2] In June 2005, Steve co-founded TAPS Paranormal Magazine.

Before Ghost Hunters, Gonsalves was a police officer.[1]

  • Gonsalves is a first cousin of actress Kelly Farrell.[3]
  • Has a severe fear of spiders, heights, public speaking, and flying. The latter sometimes affect his ability to travel for a case. You can see this on the teams trip to Ireland's Leap Castle. He ended up staying behind because he said if he did manage to get on the plane all he would think about for the remainder of the trip is the plane ride back.[1] [2] [3]
  • He has a full sleeve of tattoos on one of his arms. And several more on his other arm and both legs.
  • He has a tattoo of two Trick-or-Treaters on his upper thighs.
  • He says that he has two cats, named Sassy Lashes and Home Depot, that are his favorite things beside ghost hunting.[4]
  • Gonsalves is good friends with Mythbusters' Tory Belleci.
  • Gonsalves is in a relationship with a woman named Addie, according to his public MySpace page.
  • In Season 1 of Ghost Hunters, Gonsalves had a somewhat controversial personal relationship with TAPS Investigator-In-Training Sherry Toczko.
