Steve Cansdell

Steve Rhett Cansdell (b. 1950) is an Australian politician and member of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly.
He was Australian Professional Light Heavyweight Boxing Champion in 1973-1974 and Queensland Professional Heavyweight Boxing Champion in 1978-1981. Cansdell became champion with a sixth round knockout over Johnny Gorkom; he also lost to Greg Mcnamara over ten rounds in a non-title fight.[citation needed] Cansdell later trained future World Light Heavyweight Boxing Champion Jeff Harding.[citation needed]
He is married with four adult children. He was elected as a member of the Grafton City Council in 1993 [1]
Cansdell has represented Clarence for the National Party of Australia since 2003.[2]
