Steve Bannister, born 18th October, 1987 in Billinge, Lancashire, is an English rugby league player.
Bannister plays for Harlequins RL in the European Super League.
Steve Bannister's position of choice is as a second row. He can also operate in the centres.
Bannister is an England age-group international. Bannister is a second-rower forward who has been compared to Great Britain international Lee Gilmour, with forceful running lines and a keen eye for a gap in the defensive line.
In November 2006, Steve Bannister was promoted to train with the St Helens first team squad. He made his first grade debut on August 19, 2006 against the Catalans Dragons.
Bannister has played several games for Whitehaven on loan in 2007.
Bannister signed for London club Harlequins RL following the completion of his loan with the Cumbrian National League One side in June 2007. [1] [2]
