Sterrhoptilus capitalis |
Sterrhoptilus is a songbird genus recently separated from Stachyris and usually placed in the family Timaliidae. Together with other "Old World babblers" of the yuhina group, it is a close relative of the white-eyes however, and like these might arguably be placed in a distinct family Zosteropidae.
It contains the following species:
- Mindanao Pygmy-babbler (or Yuhina), Sterrhoptilus plateni
- Visayan Pygmy-babbler (or Yuhina), Sterrhoptilus pygmaeus
- Golden-crowned Babbler (or Yuhina), Sterrhoptilus dennistouni
- Black-crowned Babbler (or Yuhina), Sterrhoptilus nigrocapitata
- Rusty-crowned Babbler (or Yuhina), Sterrhoptilus capitalis
