A steroid stack is a slang term used to describe the combination of two or more anabolic steroids used ideally in synergy for a period commonly ranging from 2 to 10 weeks or even more (see steroid cycle). At the end of a steroid cycle, advanced bodybuilders often take mild dosages of steroids less likely to interfere with the body's HPTA. Deca or Primobolan are common examples. They are used for a period of 6-12 weeks to "bridge" between cycles and help maintain the gains they made while "on".
Since all anabolic steroids contain substances that bind androgen receptors and anabolic receptors, many users will try to combine drugs that may be weak androgens, but strong anabolics, or vice versa.
