Sterna (Greek: Στέρνα) is a settlement in the Evros prefecture of Greece. It is located around 9 kilometers west southwest of Nea Vyssa. Sterna is linked with the road linking Nea Vyssa along with the Greek National Road 51/E85 (Alexandroupoli - Orestiada - Ormenio). In 1981, Sterna had a population of 1,015 inhabitants. In 1991, the population of the settlement slightly declined to about 1,008 inhabitants. In 2001, the population declined more down to 867.

Sterna is located between the foothills and the plain. Sterna is located southwest of Edirne in Turkey, west-southwest of Nea Vyssa, north-northwest of Orestiada, north-northeast of Alexandroupoli and Soufli and southeast of Ormenio and Svilengrad, Bulgaria

Sterna was ruled by the Ottoman Empire until the Balkan Wars of 1913, instead of Greece, it joined Bulgaria since it was invaded by them and administered until the Greco-Turkish War which finally ceded to Greece mainly without any battles. After World War II and the Greek Civil War, many of its buildings were rebuilt. Some of its residents moved to other parts of Greece and the world. The population dramatically lost between 1981 and 2001.
Electricity and automobiles arrived in the 1960s, it was linked with pavement in the late-20th century, television arrived in the 1980s. Internet and computers arrived in the late-1990s.

Sterna has a school, church, banks, a post office, and a square (plateia), its nearest lyceum (middle school), a gymnasium (secondary school) is in Nea Vyssa.
