Sterling Campbell

Sterling Campbell (b. May 3, 1964) is a rock drummer who has worked with numerous high-profile acts. He began by working with Cyndi Lauper in the mid-1980s, then was a member of Duran Duran from 1989 to 1991 and of Soul Asylum from 1995 to 1998. He has recorded and toured with David Bowie, David Byrne, The B-52's, Tina Turner, and many more.
Campbell was born and raised in New York City.
In 1998, he became a Falun Gong practitioner. In February 2002, he travelled with some other Falun Gong practitioners to China, to peacefully protest the Chinese government's ban of this practice method. He was arrested, detained, and finally expelled from the country.
