Stereoelectroencephalography (SEEG) is the practice of recording electroencephalographic signals via both surface electrodes (electrodes placed on the scalp) as well as depth electrodes (electrodes surgically implanted into the brain tissue). The resulting data can provide three-dimensional information about the local electrical activity.
