Stereo typ is seventh album of Polish singer Kayah. She wrote all of lyrics except "Do it right" which was written by Mika Urbaniak and "Testosteron" which was co-written by Krzysztof Pszona. Kayah considers this album as a diary, reflection of her past. Riot against stereotypes, herself as an artist (her work with Goran Bregović) and being a woman. Musically it is considered a 'black record' with nu soul on "Większy apetyt" and "Teren zaminowany", 70's funk ("Jeszcze ta noc") and house ("Testosteron") elements.
Kayah presented first songs during 40th Sopot International Song Festival on August 23, 2003. Album was further promoted by StereoTour at various clubs in Poland. Album was nominated to four Fryderyk Awards: Pop Album of the Year, Production of the Year (Stereo typ"), Song of the Year and Video of the Year ("Testosteron").
