Stephen Wong Ka Lok is a Hong Kong TVB actor. In his days prior to joining TVB, Ka Lok has actually passed the examination for custom officer. It happened that he accompanied his friend to such an examination in 1997. Ironically, it turned out that his friend who desired to join the custom, did not manage to pass the exam while Ka Lok, who did not originally possess such intention, passed. However, due to family reason he had to decline the offer, which at that point of time due to economical recession, was considered a very stable and well-paid position. With that, Ka Lok then went on to work in a telecommunication company. He possesses very good learning attitude and is a very down-to-earth person. During his stint in the telecommunication company, he has constantly been on the look out for opportunity to take up study courses offered by the company, in the quest of upgrading himself. However, as he has only been working there for two years at that time, he was not entitled for such privilege. Life went on and as if fated, on an occasion during which Ka Lok went to the Television Broadcast (TVB) Station to perform inspection on its telephone system, he was approached by a personnel of the acting division. Asked if he is interested in being an actor, Ka Lok first thought was how tough life as an artist would be (he has been on modelling jobs at that time and so had some ideas of such a lifestyle). However, he has some time for consideration and only made his decision after seeking advice from friends and family. Upon casting, he joined the 17th TVB Acting Class[1][2].
