Stephen Twitty - United States Army Colonel. Only African American serviceman to receive a Silver Star for his service of duty during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Noted for his relationship with journalist [David Bloom [1] ] that was embedded with his Battalion. Only African American officer to command company, battalion and brigade size combat arms units during wars in Iraq. Graduate of South Carolina State University. Member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
