From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Stephen "Steve" McEveety is an American film producer.

The son of Joseph McEveety, and nephew of Bernard McEveety, Hollywood film directors/producers, he has over 30 years experience in senior positions in the entertainment industry. As a child, Steve McEveety appeared in episodes of the golden age TV series Gunsmoke, My Three Sons, and Star Trek.

McEveety partnered with John Shepherd and Todd Burns to launch Mpower Pictures. The company's first release was the Toronto Award Winning Bella. He recently completed an exclusive producing deal with Mel Gibson's Icon Productions where he executive produced What Women Want, Payback, Anna Karenina, Immortal Beloved, The Man Without a Face and Braveheart, most of which starred Gibson. These films garnered ten Academy Award nominations and won five.

Gibson and McEveety's most profitable (and controversial) film was The Passion of the Christ. McEveety also produced Airborne, which he also wrote, as well as 187, Papparazzi, and We Were Soldiers.
